One of the many advantages of working at USLI is the competitive salary and benefits program we offer our people and their families. Full-time community members receive 100% paid medical benefits, as well as quarterly bonuses based on performance. Part-time employees working an average of 25 hours a week or more are eligible for medical coverage at 80% and other voluntary benefit offerings. All employees working over 500 hours annually are eligible for the company-paid profit-sharing program. Everyone at USLI is also encouraged to participate in the abundance of professional development opportunities available.

USLI is a very unique company because we pay 100% of monthly medical premiums for full-time employees and 80% for part-time employees who work an average of 25 hours per week or more.   • Medical premiums paid by USLI for you and your family, with no waiting periods; we offer Personal Choice PPO (Preferred Provider Organization)

Life Insurance and Voluntary Benefits

We want to make sure life insurance and short and long-term disability options are available to you so you can make the right choices for you and your family.

  • Life insurance with a $50,000 benefit by UNUM
  • Voluntary life insurance options include term life, whole life and universal life insurance policies
  • Short-term disability with 14-day elimination period, covers 60 percent of weekly earnings up to $1,000 per week; max of 24 weeks
  • Long-term disability with 60 percent of monthly salary up to $20,000 per month (tax-free) after 24 weeks 

Financial and Retirement

Being able to have the time off you need every year is important when considering any job. Having the opportunity to put away money and save for your future is also critical for most of our applicants. We want to assure you that we keep our people at the forefront of what we do by making a 401(k) plan available as well providing enough paid time off throughout the year.

  • 401(k) plan with optional immediate participation
  • Discretionary performance bonus - all people considered for a cash bonus each year 
  • Two personal days per calendar year  
  • Six Sick days per year; accumulate up to a maximum of 18 available in a given year  
  • Minimum of two weeks’ vacation per year (up to four weeks after 15+ years)

Education is very important to us at USLI, and we want it to be important to you, too. Our on-site classes are taught by full-time people in various departments within our company. Whether it be taking our Effective Business Writing class or taking an insurance exam to further your industry knowledge, we provide these opportunities free of charge. 

  • Personal development courses offered on premises by People’s College at no cost to you; 300+ courses per year 
  • Tuition Reimbursement up to $1,500 per year for approved undergraduate or graduate degree programs
  • Insurance, claims and technology self-study programs paid at 100 percent for study materials, half-day study time, exams, plus additional monetary incentives up to $33,000 per person for completing insurance, claims and technology designations and certifications 
  • Internal job posting program provides people the opportunity to post for available positions based on qualifications
